An Earnest Prayer
Once, a master and his young disciple, who had some confusion about God, asked his master about some clarifications about God. Instead of clearing his doubts, master plucked a rosebud from the garden and asked his disciple to open it without tearing off the petals. Young disciple looked in disbelief at the master, thinking, after all, what a rosebud could possibly have to do with God and His doings. Still, as a mark of respect he had for the master, young disciple proceeded to try to unfold the rosebud without tearing it’s petals. But soon, he realized that it was an impossible task. Looking at young disciple’s helplessness, the master began to recite the following poem:
An Earnest Prayer
“It is only a tiny rosebud, a flower of God’s design.
But I cannot unfold the petals with clumsy hands of mine.
The secret of unfolding flowers is not known to such as I.
God opens this flower so easily but in my hands they die.
If I cannot unfold a rosebud, this flower of God’s design,
then how can I have the wisdom to unfold this life of mine?
So, I will trust in God for leading each moment of my day.
I look to God for guidance in each step along the way.
The path that lies before me, only lord and savior knows.
I will trust God to unfold the moments, just as He unfolds the Rose.”
Prayer is a pious and noble act of a human being towards His God, Creator, Source, Provider or the Higher Power. Prayer is just a way of conveying our Thanks and Gratitude towards that Higher Power, who has created this immensely beautiful world for all of us to live and share in peace and harmony. It is a way of remembering Him, connecting with Him and conveying our Love and Affection. Prayer is also a way of accepting Him in Totality.
Thanks to read this “Earnest Prayer.”
